Pin High for golf days
How a golf day works
A corporate day, a charity day, a society's away day. You get a page of your own to send out, fourballs and hole sponsorships sold and paid for online, a live leaderboard on the day, and the prize sheet at the end of it.
From the idea to the prize giving
- 1
Set it up in about five minutes
Pick the course, the date and the first tee time, say how many fourballs you have and what they cost, and Pin High builds the day: a page of its own with your logo and colours, the draw, and a link to send out. No club access needed — a company, a school or a society runs a day at any course on Pin High, and the course is simply where it is played.
- 2
Send one link
That link is the whole job. It opens your day's page: what it is in your own words, what is for sale, and a Book your place panel at the top. People book without making an account — name, email, and they are held for you.
- 3
They book and pay
A fourball, a hole sponsorship, a prize hole, dinner tickets — whatever you put up for sale. They pay by card there and then, or by EFT with a reference you can match, whichever you allow. A fourball can split the bill four ways: everyone gets their own link and pays their own share, and the booking is confirmed when the last one is in.
- 4
The draw builds itself
Every fourball bought takes a tee time, and the names typed at booking go straight onto the sheet. You can see who has booked, who still owes, and chase anyone outstanding on WhatsApp from your own screen.
- 5
Live scoring on the day
Open the scoring on the morning and one phone per fourball scores for all four. A golfer types their name on the day's page and their card opens — nothing to install, no account. The leaderboard updates as they go, and the TV board runs on any screen in the clubhouse.
- 6
Prizes, and the day afterwards
The prize sheet works out the winners on countback when it needs to. The results stay on the day's page, and so do the photographs anybody adds from the course — the shot, the fourball, the prize giving.
What the organiser sees
One screen, at pinhigh.co.za/golf-days, with everything folded away until you want it: the link to send out, the draw, every order and what it owes, the money the day has taken, who else runs it, your sponsors, what is for sale, how people pay, and how the page looks. Payments that arrive and cannot be matched to a booking are put in front of you rather than left in a log.
Questions people ask first
- What does it cost?
- Setting up a day and running it is free. Card payments carry a 4.5% processing fee, which comes off what buyers pay — the organiser's screen has a calculator so you can price for it: say what you want to keep per fourball and it tells you what to charge. An EFT costs nothing; that money goes straight into your own account.
- Do the golfers need accounts?
- No. Booking, paying, scoring and watching the leaderboard all work without one. Only the organiser signs in.
- Can somebody else help me run it?
- Yes — invite them by email from Who runs this day, and they see everything you see: the bookings, the money, the draw and the scoring, signed in as themselves. A committee does not share a login.
- What format can we play?
- The usual charity-day formats are there: alliance (best two of four), betterball, individual Stableford, medal, and the rest. Handicaps are handled properly — playing handicaps off the tee played, and the allowance for the format.
- What if someone cancels?
- Mark their booking refunded or cancelled and the fourball goes back on sale. Card payments reach your bank as they are paid, so any refund is yours to send back, the same as an EFT; Pin High records it but does not reverse card payments.
- Can we take sponsors?
- Sell the holes on the booking page, and add each sponsor's logo and link yourself. They show on every screen of the day's site and on the TV board in the clubhouse.
Start one
It takes about five minutes and costs nothing to set up. You can build the whole thing, look at the page, and only then decide whether to send the link.
